MORGAN & NATE
Morgan and Nate met in August 2015. “My best friend Alex met him earlier that year, but we hadn’t crossed paths until the summer when we all decided to go out one night. Neither of us was looking for a relationship, but we clicked almost immediately. Little did we know our new friendship would blossom into so much more. It didn’t take long for us to realize we were soulmates.” Nate proposed to Morgan on their seventh anniversary of meeting each other at James River State Park in Virginia. “We spent the weekend there with friends and had planned to go to a nice dinner that evening. Earlier that morning, Nate found a beautiful overlook that looked out over the river. He suggested we stop there at sunset before dinner to take pictures. While our friends were ‘taking our picture’, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. I was completely surprised! It couldn’t have been more perfect.”
Ninety guests, along with a very intimate bridal party, including Morgan’s best friend Alex as the matron of honor and her husband Austin as Nate’s best man, Morgan’s niece Mia as the flower girl and her nephew Kayden as the ring bearer, helped the couple celebrate their June wedding at Glenview Mansion. Their wedding was held outside the mansion in their stunning gardens during the summer heat wave. With that in mind, the couple made sure their ceremony was short and sweet. Nate’s uncle officiated the wedding because they wanted someone who knew them on a personal level. “As Christians, our main focus was a ceremony centered on our faith which included a bible reading done by my brother, Ryan. We had our DJ play classical versions of modern-day songs, which gave it a sophisticated, but fun ambiance.”
Morgan and Nate’s theme was ‘Summer Garden’. “We had a lot of colorful flowers that featured different shades of pink, orange, blue and purple. A lot of our wedding was “DIY,” like our décor, flower wall backdrop, and flower box wedding sign. We even did our own florals! It was a lot of work, but we loved being able to make everything exactly how we wanted with our own personal touches.” The couple has a mutual love of nature, so they gave their guests native wildflower seeds as their wedding favor, embedded in party favor cards at their seats. “We loved the idea of them growing their own flowers after our garden themed wedding. Also, because my father passed away in 2021, my mom let me wear the first ring he ever gave her on our wedding day. It helped to make it feel like he was there with us.”
